*This book is amazing. I had already decided that I would not read and put away, but rather keep it out so I can re-read it. It is soooooooo good. You accomplished what you set out to do. It is hard to find all the words to describe its input.

Here is an excerpt...prepare to be encouraged and entertained!

"Once, Jimmie and I took a trip to Kentucky to visit some of my relatives. My Dad made the trip with us. We rented a car. Because Dad knew every little back road and hog path (as he called them) in the state of Kentucky, he became our chauffeur.

During one of our day trips, we were sitting in a drive-thru and waiting for our turn, when Dad looked over at Jimmie who was riding "shotgun" and chuckled, saying, "Well lookie here. Did you see that? The steering wheel just came right off.'

Jimmie and I both turned quickly toward Dad and the steering column. Why? Because we were still in the car, and the engine was still running. We were wondering how we were going to get out of the drive-thru and on with our journey while Dad was holding the steering wheel in his hands and waving it around. I thought, "what? oh my goodness, oh my goodness"

But having been a professional semi-truck driver for a large part of his life, Dad was not intimidated or bothered by the fact that the steering wheel had come off the steering column. After chuckling, he returned it to its proper place, all while still driving the car.  Bless his heart.

What could have been a disaster and a heartbreak was just another bump in the road to Dad, our navigator. Years later as I reminisce about this, I realize that I should be just as comfortable with God being my navigator and steering me through potential disaster and heartbreak.

During that trip, I was not fearful, because Dad was driving. Whatever we faced, Dad would handle it. He was a Professional. He knew the countryside. He had the knowledge and experience to lead Jimmie and me to our destination. I didn't even think twice about helping my Dad navigate. He didn't need my help. He was quite capable of getting us to our destination safely and on time. ....

There will be times when the steering wheel might come off the steering column. If I have already given Jesus the control to be my navigator, there is no need to panic."
